1.1 Values
Ipeco Holdings Ltd and all its subsidiaries consider the protection and promotion of health, safety and the environment (HSE) a fundamental value and corporate responsibility governing all of our activities.
Our aim is to create an employee-orientated, high performance business culture that emphasises participation, quality, productivity, goal attainment and the development of a world class workforce performing to the very highest standards.
Fundamental to the development of such a business culture is the requirement that employees, contractors and visitors are provided with safe working conditions and undertake work activities that do not cause harm to themselves or the environment.
1.2 Commitment
Ipeco is committed to operating HSE management systems that:
1. Provide a safe and healthy workplace
2. Prevents work related injury and/or ill health
3. Pro-actively monitors and improves occupational HSE performance
4. Eliminates hazards and minimises HSE risks
5. Continually improves, addresses non-conformities and takes advantage of opportunities for improvement
6. Fulfils the company’s legal requirements
7. Achieves occupational HSE objectives
8. Improves other aspects of employee well-being
1.3 Participation
It is recognised that within an organisation of nine hundred people, our HSE management systems can only be successful if there is participation across the whole workforce. It is my expectation that every single employee works with me to create that high-performance business culture.
As a minimum, I expect everyone to take personal responsibility for working in a safe manner and for ensuring that, through their own acts or omissions, they do not do anything that could potentially jeopardise their own health safety, or the well-being of others and the environment.
I am committed to ensuring that employees are provided with relevant information, instruction, and training in respect of occupational health and safety; that they are consulted; and that they are provided with effective and competent supervision.
As with all aspects of what we do here at Ipeco, I will promote and expect to see continuous improvement in occupational health and safety performance.
Under my leadership Ipeco will prioritise the occupational health and safety requirements of the business above all other objectives and goals.
Further information on the company’s occupational health and safety management system, including the organisation and applicable individual roles and responsibilities, is in the company’s Occupational Health and Safety Manual (IPEX 09).
