Ipeco proudly support Havens Hospices

Ipeco is proud to sponsor and support Havens Hospices with the logistics for their 2023 ‘Herd in the City’ fundraising art trail.

A herd of 44 large and 71 baby elephants for this summer’s Herd In The City art trail have marched into Ipeco, where they will be stored until artists, local schools, and groups begin decorating later this month. Well done to everyone who helped safely deliver the elephants!

Steve Johnson, CEO added “Ipeco is delighted to be involved in supporting the exceptional work that Havens Hospice does for the community. Fortunately, we had an empty enclosure that was spacious enough to accommodate a herd of elephants and their offspring. So, when we were asked if we could help, we didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes’.”

The pretty parade includes P-Nut, our very own baby elephant, made from small aerospace compoents and upholstery material used in flight deck and executive passenger seats, and the dazzling, blinged up baby elephant aptly named Twinkle Toes, the creation of Sarah Nash our Finance Director. Ele the Explorer, a giant elephant whom we are delighted to sponsor, also returns to the herd, painted by twin sisters Rachael and Phillippa. When they are not painting sculptures they illustrate children’s books, magazines, and greetings cards.

The elephants will be placed around the city from mid-July to September. Afterward, they will be auctioned to raise funds for Havens Hospices. Havens Hospices is an organization that offers free, specialized hospice care to local adults, children, and their families. The funds raised through the auction will benefit their cause by generating thousands of pounds.
